This research attempts to construct the prototype plans of traditionalhouses at Kingman through the use of shape grammar. First, the literatureof traditional houses ( by interviewing the craftsmen and surveying traditional houses) is reviewed and analyzed. Following that, a form deriving system for generating the morphological structure of prototype plans is formulated from the principles and procedures. This system consists of two grammars ─ "Shape Grammar" for geometrical structure and "Architectural ammar" for spatial structure. |
