The blackfoot disease (BFD) in southwestern coastal plain of Taiwan was reported to result from drinking groundwater with anomalously high concentrations of arsenic and humic substances. This study analyzed arsenic, iron, manganese, carbon, sulfide and nitrogen contents of the sediment cores collected from this area in order to find the source(s) of arsenic in groundwater. |
