Taichung Wufung once was called Ataabu. The name was originally from the phonic translation of a community of Pingbu tribe. After 921 earthquake in Taiwan, the Wufung faced countless villagers outflow. The industrial production and economic activities decreased and suffered. Heritage and landscapes were also serious damaged. The urgent goal of promoting tourism industry is to attract visitors and to show the transformation of Wufung’s humanity, history, geography and environment, characteristics, historic buildings, and natural treasures--with the expectation of becoming a new town with depth of humanity and history. |
