The purpose of this study is to investigate the practional researcher’s own teaching practices, through the application of an action research. The researcher designed a series homeland studies activities, in which social education and language arts were interdisciplinarily taught, along with a supplemental resource: the “I Love Luodong”. Meanwhile, a great festival, “I-Lan Green Expo” was held in I-Lan when this study was carried out, therefore, it was included as part of the teaching activity to help students to enjoy the flavor of the homeland studies. It was understood that such an action to improve a teacher’s own teaching practice might be a leading example for the newly implemented national curriculum.
Several research instruments were used to collect data for later analysis, they were: researcher journal, collected documents, participating observation, in-depth interview, literature review, etc. |
