After the 1980s, Wulai Xiang is the best model of the socio-economic renovation in the country. Wulai Xiang as the “Springs Model” including the resource of springs, aboriginal culture, and the biological resources infix in Metropolitan Taipei. Through the in-depth interviews, the author found that the “Springs Model” was formed by both the natural environments and the inner power within the society. The focal point of this research was established by theories of local development, such as institutional thickness and regulation theory, and joint relations between social capitals, networks, and spatial organization. Secondly, the author recognized the exceptional inner social factors in the area of Wulai Xiang through literature review and in-depth interviews. Thirdly, the author analyzed the structure of development in local areas at the time from Japanese government ruled Taiwan till present. Fourthly, the author underlined the current style of growing systems in local Wulai Xiang from the perspectives of social capitals, networks, and spatial organization. At last, the author pointed out the crises and difficulties that the development of local networks in Wulai Xiang may encounter in a long term based on the result of the research. |
