The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural behavior and damage mechanism of traditional wooden frame damage way using front building San-Chuan-Dian of listed heritage Tian-Tan. From structure analysis, we obtain the structure behavior and damage modes under vertical load and earthquake. Furthermore, in this thesis system improvement under seismic load is also proposed. Analytical model of traditional wooden frame provides preserver a procedure to analyse the wooden frame during planning and design, and to control the safety of wooden frame effectively. This is required for the preservation of historical building and listed heritage in Taiwan. In addition, the results obtained in this study could be used as the base for further experimental study of traditional wooden frame system.
