This dissertation aims to explore the status quo of private management of public schools in Yi-lan County. The purposes of the research are as follows. First is to probe the fundamental concepts of private management of public schools: the origin, development as well as its position and value in the educational reformation. Second is to examine the application of two cases in Yi-lan County. And third is to propose suggestions for future promotion of private management of public schools.
