“A Study on Creating Quality Community Holistic Education — Case Study of Yuanlin Community College” The purpose of the study is to examine Taiwan’s rapid uprising of locale-oriented, localised alternative higher education ‘community college’ in the last five years, some 69 in total as of July 2003 already established or in the process of instituting. Community colleges that conjoin higher education and adult education are gaining momentum judging from the increase of student number according to Yuanlin Community College statistics, providing community residents with opportunity for further learning.
