With six chapters, this paper first states its motive, purpose and range of its research while exploring relevant documents before putting forward the methods and steps for conducting this research. Observing, recording and analyzing the architectural decoration of Fanjiang's Old Houses in Hsinwu, this study starts from the exploration of natural and humane environments as well as architectural forms and then proceeds to the investigation and analysis of the types, topics and symbols of architectural decoration, the parts of architectural decoration, ways of expression as well as colors of architectural decoration.
