The foundation of community ecology management is the principle of responsibility for administration, and this responsibility is related to the forest tenure system which comes from laws and habits. By in-depth interview and questionnaire survey in three communities of southern Taiwan (Chingshan community of Sandimen Township in Pingtung county, Gwanlin community of Meinong Township in Kaohsiung County, and Tauyuan community of Gushan District in Kaohsiung City), this research probes into the relationship between use of community forest and tenure system.
