The research paper focuses on a region of local government called Dashu Township, which is situated in Gaoxiong County, Taiwan, and presents a complete picture of when and where pineapples were planted and distributed by the planters after World War II.Before World War II, the pineapples produced in Taiwan, including those of Dashu Township, appeared mostly in the form of canned fruit in the world market. However, the situation changed after the war. The main purpose of this article is to make a thorough exploration of the rise and fall of the pineapple production in the post-war era.
